Michael Clarke won his first toss of the one-day series and decided to bat at the Gabba as Australia aim to wrap up the contest with two matches to spare following the defeat at Adelaide. The hosts are hoping to use the extra emotion generated by the recent floods to spur them to success.

Both teams have reduced their spin options for this match with Mitchell Johnson recalled in place of Xavier Doherty after missing the last three matches while England have dropped Michael Yardy in favour of Chris Woakes. The visitors have also handed Steven Finn an ODI debut at the expense of Chris Tremlett who has a side strain.

This match is a focal point for the fundraising efforts for the Queensland flood victims. Both teams have donated money and further collections will be made during the day. Australia hope to give the public something to smile about with a series victory.
