West Indies win toss, bat first

West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and chose to bat first against Australia in the first ODI at the WACA ground.
Sammy's opposite number Michael Clarke admitted at the toss he was going to bowl first, and is hopeful for a hint of moisture to aid his pace bowling attack in the early overs.
The hosts included James Faulkner for his ODI debut after a strong allround display against the visitors in their tour opener against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra on Tuesday, leaving Xavier Doherty and Ben Cutting out of the final team.
West Indies included Jason Holder for his debut and were also able to name Kemar Roach after he joined the squad in Perth following personal leave. However the hitting power of Andre Russell was not available after he aggravated a knee problem against the PM's XI.
Australia 1 Usman Khawaja, 2 Aaron Finch, 3 Phillip Hughes, 4 Michael Clarke (capt), 5 George Bailey, 6 Matthew Wade (wk), 7 Glenn Maxwell, 8 James Faulkner, 9 Mitchell Johnson, 10 Mitchell Starc, 11 Clint McKay.
West Indies 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Kieran Powell, 3 Ramnaresh Sarwan, 4 Darren Bravo, 5 Dwayne Bravo, 6 Kieron Pollard, 7 Darren Sammy (capt), 8 Devon Thomas (wk), 9 Jason Holder, 10 Sunil Narine, 11 Kemar Roach.
